understand your specialties and skills so we can match you with the
right assignment. We need your MNSS application completely filled

for this we also request that you include one if you have one available.
If not, we will have a recruiter help you to put one together.

How long will it take to approve my application and find an assignment?
This depends on you and how quickly you complete the application process,

weeks.
Do I need to get a physical before I send in my application?

a drug or medical screen prior to your first shift. Your recruiter

permission. Just place a reminder note on your application stating
that you’d prefer we not contact your employer at this time.

How do I actually get a job?
You and your recruiter will determine the open position, which most
closely matches your skill, experience and desired location. MNSS
will then send your profile to the nurse manager of that unit. Your
profile consists of your application with work history, your professional
credentials, MNSS skills tests and skills inventory. MNSS will never
send your profile to a facility without your knowledge and permission.
As your profile represents you and is the key to obtaining the approval,
it is always best to include as much positive information as possible.
Please feel free to include any written performance evaluations,
letters of reference, certificates of accomplishment or other recognitions
that you may have, when you return your application materials. After
receiving your profile, the nurse manager will contact MNSS. If a
phone interview is required, we will set that up for you. During
this interview, you are both asking each other questions to determine
if it will be a good match. Often, the job offer is made during the
interview. It is critical to contact your recruiter as soon as you
have had your interview, to discuss the next step.

Does MNSS utilize independent contractors, (form; 1099)?

This depends on what your scheduling preferences are. Full time contracts
generally run for thirteen weeks. FT contracts are 36 hours per week,
with alternating weekends. Shift times will vary depending on the
facility needs. Part time contracts are customized to both the facility
and the medical professional. Per diem shifts can be booked as late
as same day, or as far advance as the facility staffing department
permits. In our experience, it can be up to one month in advance.

A- MNSS strongly discourages a medical professional to cancel a booked
shift and offers a variety of flexible scheduling options to maintain
this policy. Once a shift has been confirmed on your behalf with a
facility, MNSS requires a minimum of 24 hours advance notice for all
per diem and contract employees. MNSS policy states that a medical
professional can have no more than three absences within six months
to take advantage of advance scheduling. Emergencies are definitely
an exception to this policy.
What is the hospitals policy for canceling a medical professional
for a shift?
If you are on
contract with a facility and your contract does not state
differently, the hospital will not cancel or change a shift without your prior
notice or consent. If you are working per diem shifts at a facility, the
facility has up to 1.5 hours prior to your start time to cancel your shift.
What is the benefit in floating, or offering to work more than one
unit when scheduling a shift?
If your skills allow, we encourage a medical professional to offer the
facility the option to float you during a shift to the areas in which
you are needed. This provides the facility the option to utilize your
skills in the areas with the most needs, as oppose to canceling you when
the need decreases in a certain area.
If my facility requests that I float to multiple units during my
shift, does my pay change according to the unit I work?
No. Pay rates are based on each facility, not areas of specialty that
you work.

with a facility?
Yes. If your area of specialty or interest is in one area, you have the
